This is the Sanchez family. In many ways they are a typical rural Honduran family. They live in a dirt-floored, adobe house with a magnificent view of the many surrounding mountains and valleys. The father, mother and all of their children work together on the family farm raising corn, beans, coffee, cows, chickens and pigs. They love playing soccer and listening to Honduran teams on their battery powered radio.

They are typical in another way also. Notice their feet. Even though they all work hard to make a living there's just never enough money for everyone to have shoes, especially the children. These little bare feet get cuts and scratches which often lead to serious infection since they have no disinfectant or bandages. Even more common are the parasites that enter through these bare feet as they play and work where the pigs live (and defecate).

Our partners at Global Aid Network (GAiN) have once again offered us thousands of pairs shoes. These simple, lightweight, open air shoes are perfect for warm, wet Honduras. Best of all we can get these brand new, first quality shoes for only $2 a pair. That's less than ten percent of the regular price for these shoes and it includes our cost of getting them to Honduras and out to the villages.  Click here for a video of our teams distributing shoes and other aid.

While our XMA teams are distributing the shoes they will also have many opportunities (and large crowds) to share the Gospel. This simple act of showing God's love through meeting a basic need will open hearts to the most important need in their lives - a personal relationship with Christ.

But, we need your help to take advantage of this opportunity. For $2 you can put shoes, possibly the first pair they have ever had, on a little Honduran boy or girl. $20 will shoe an entire family. $200 will provide shoes for everyone in a small village or maybe $500 for a larger village. Of course, all donations are tax-deductible. You can mail a check or make an immediate donation by clicking the “Make a Donation” button on this page. You can help even more by sharing this opportunity with your friends.
