The Haiti Challenge Continues

Thanks so much to all of you who came out to The Haiti Challenge walkathon on March 6th.  Through your hard work we raised over $10,000 for our ongoing ministry to help Haitians recover from the earthquake.  Your support is helping to provide medical, food, clothing and equipment to begin the long rebuilding process.

Our "boots-on-the-ground" phase has already begun with Randy White making a trip down to help distribute supplies and make plans for construction of a distribution center to help our partner, Global Aid Network (GAiN), more efficiently manage the incoming shipping containers of supplies.  The tools, equipment and building supplies are in transit to Haiti now.  Randy and Jay Adcock will lead our next two teams on April 17 and 24.  They plan to have the distribution center ready for operation by the end of these two weeks.

There are still lots of opportunities for all of you to help through financial assistance or by joining one of our volunteer teams.  We'll be sending a lot more teams over the upcoming months and years. Let us know if you are interested in going.

Of course, all of these supplies, equipment and teams require a lot of money.  You can make a direct donation to help with our Haiti ministry by mailing a check or donating by credit card at our website.

We also have another fun event coming up this summer.  We are continuing The Haiti Challenge with a 5K trail walk/run at Lincoln Parish Park in Ruston, LA on Saturday, July 3rd.  This will be a fun time for you and your family to start your Fourth of July weekend at one of the most beautiful parks in North Louisiana while continuing to help our neighbors in Haiti.  Registration is free and includes a free Haiti Challenge tee shirt.  We will be accepting donations to continue our work in Haiti.  Mark your calendar and watch for more details to come.
