WHERE WE SERVE:

Honduras

Activity Level: 1-5, Security Level: Green (what is this?)

Olanchito

This is where God birthed Extreme Missionary Adventures back in the 90s and its still the heart of our ministry. This area serves as our main location with The River House located on the banks of the beautiful Mame River in the rugged, wild-west department of Olancho. Here we have a comfortable (by Honduran standards) volunteer house plus our national training center including a tabernacle, men’s & women’s dormitories and dining facilities. The training center is used for week long training seminars for local pastors and laity several times each year. Your team will travel by commercial airline, four wheel drive truck and possibly by boat and/or on foot to reach the lost all the way from the cities to the remote villages in the beautiful mountains of Honduras.

Siguatepeque/Pane

Pane is a village with approximately 300 families. The Hernandez family has been working in the Pane village for over 4 ½ years. Previously, there was not an evangelical church. After 2 years of sharing the gospel door to door, the hearts of the people began to open. God also opened the doors for the Hernandez family to build a church in Pane where an average of 50 adults attends church services and over 100 children attend Sunday school. The Lord has planted a vision in the Hernandez family’s heart to see Pane as a Christian village. The vision has led to the development of the New Life Project. The project provides a safe environment for young children while parents work in the fields, nutritious meals, free medical care from Christian doctors, and teach older children basic trades to give them the opportunity to get better jobs to support their families. The children receive loving care from Christian women and hear God’s word, His salvation, and shown His love daily. The village has given the Hernandez family an unused building to use for the New Life Project while funds are raised to build a new building on land that was donated. The goal is to provide care to 100-150 children.

Danli

Your guide-interpreters will be Marlon and Trish Munoz. They are fulltime church planters who live in the town of Danli and have been working with XMA for over 5 years. They will meet you as you come out of the immigration area of the Tegucigalpa airport and be with you all week. One of their main areas of church planting is along the Patuca River in the Rio Platano Biosphere.

Nicaragua

Activity Level: 1-5, Security Level: Green (what is this?)

The Peninsula

Since 2010, God has expanded our influence into various parts of Nicaragua. The newest areas of service include, Jiquillio, a small fishing village on the coast and Padre Ramos, which is a village just north of Jiquillio. These villages are your typical small villages of Nicaragua. The people here live in huts with thatched roofs and dirt floors. There is electricity here and cell service. Another area of service is Volcano Cosiguina, a volcano located at the end of the Peninsula. This area is remote, there is no electricity and there is no cell service. The ministry opportunities abound from Jesus Film showings to pastoral training to aid and medical distribution. The type of service can be modified to each team’s skills and abilities.

Nueva Sergovia

Along with Nueva Sergovia, we are working in the departments of Jinotega and Madriz. We will fly into Managua and from there it is about a 4 hour drive to the center adjacent to the 1st Iglesia Bautista Monte Hermon Church in Ocotal. From Ocotal we will venture into the remote villages. Our main goal is to see new churches planted in remote mountain villages in these departments. Our primary means of sharing the gospel is through public showings of the Jesus Film. There are also opportunities for sharing personal testimonies, witnessing, preaching and whatever else the Lord leads you to do.

Peru

Activity Level: 3-5, Security Level: Green (what is this?)

Breu & Puerto Bermudez

Our work in Peru began in July of 2005. We fly into Lima then to Pucallpa. From there we drive 4x4 trucks to either the city or Breu or Puerto Bermudez. The drive is around 8 hours but on the way back we charter a float plane from Puerto Bermudez for a one flight back. Or if we are coming from Breu, we charter a 6 passenger Cesena for a one hour flight back to Pucallpa. In the villages there is not electricity and in many cases we utilize boats for transportation. We will engage in storing during the day and showing the Jesus Film in the evening. Many of the houses in this area are platform houses made from bamboo with thatch roofs.

Slovenia

Activity Level: 3-5,  Security Level: Green (what is this?)

Northwest

Our work in Slovenia began in 2009. This area is unique in that humanitarian aid, medical supplies and other basic needs elements are not needed. The ministry work in and around the Bovec area involves prayerwalking and literature distribution. The local missionary we have teamed up with engages in extreme sports evangelism. Throughout a week’s work part of your mission will be relationship building and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you through each experience. While in this area our basecamp will be tents in a local campsite.

Parts of Asia

Activity Level: 5,  Security Level: Red (what is this?)

Central Asia

For the past five years XMA has been partnering with local believers in Central Asia to plant churches among unreached minority people groups. The first phase of the work is translating a core group of 60 key Bible stories into the unwritten languages of these peoples. We have these oral Bible stories recorded in three of the languages and have begun to see converts and house churches planted within these previously unreached people groups. XMA is also heavily involved in humanitarian aid such as medical, dental & eye care clinics, school & clinic construction, leper ministry, orphan ministry and prison ministry. Our Central Asian XMA volunteers demonstrate God’s love through their humanitarian aid and they share God’s Word through oral Bible storying. There is much more work to be done within these first three people groups and we are starting to work with five other groups.

Southeast Asia

We have a very unique opportunity to partner with IMB missionaries in Southeast Asia usingbackpackers to distribute Gospel literature tounreached people groups. These people groups live in remote areas of a restricted country. While in the villages they will have opportunities to share Bible stories and open doors for further evangelism. Due to the extremely hot, humid weather in the summer these trips take place during the winter months. They are about ten days long and will be limited to no more than four people – your teamleader plus two or three others.

Middle East and North Africa

In 2007 we did our first XMA prayerwalking/literature distribution trip. Much like our work in Southeast Asia these volunteers are outdoor or adventure sports vacationers. We are continuing to develop opportunities for these trips as we make contact with who need our services. These trips require a very high degree of flexibility and a willingness to accept the risk involved.

Sub-Saharan Africa

Activity Level: 5, Security Level: Yellow (what is this?)

Zimbabwe

Our work in Zimbabwe, Africa started in October 2010. Through contacts here at home, the Lord led XMA to a remote people group in Northern Zimbabwe. The “Tonga” people were displaced when the government dammed the Zambezi River and are now scattered along the north and south shorelines of Lake Kariba. Pastor White Kongobwe walks days to reach his fellow Tongamen in this area. God has led us to this pastor to come alongside him to share the Good News of Jesus to the multitude of small Tonga villages.

The area that we minister in is very rural and is considered the “African Bush”. The Baobab trees scatter the landscape as well as the occasional animal sighting is always exciting. There are numerous opportunities to minister in Zimbabwe. We will be meeting the people’s physical needs with humanitarian aid as well as, and most importantly, their spiritual needs by using the Jesus Film to share the Gospel.

Ethiopia

Our work in Ethiopia is a work in progress.  We currently do not have any trips available.

United States

We have several stateside ministry opportunities.

Randy White is engaged in a ministry in Hackberry, Louisiana.

Justin Reneau has begun a stateside ministry through trail runs, adventure races, and other various off-road events. At these events we are given the opportunity to read from God’s Word, Pray before the events, and share with the participants about XMA. Through a partnership with steelsports.net, we are able to build a strong stateside adventure ministry to not only recruit volunteers, but share Christ with our neighbors. Visit our XMA Races link for more information.
