Day 8 of Trip

Extreme News

This is the daily reading your volunteer will be focused on today.

Luke 8:39

“Go back to your home, and tell all that God has done for you.” And off he went,

proclaiming throughout the town all that Jesus had done for him.

The last day!  Time to pack up and return home.  This is usually a day of mixed emotions for most of our team members.  You are missing your family.  Ready to get home, take a good hot shower, eat a normal meal, and sleep in your own bed.  But there is also a sadness about leaving.  You have made new friends.  Hopefully you have a lot of new brothers and sisters in Christ due to your efforts this week.  You have witnessed the Lord work in people’s lives in extreme ways.  The Lord has worked in your life in extreme ways!

Jesus tells us in Mark 16:15 to “Go onto all the world and preach the Good News to all creation”.  You have obeyed that command.  Now He has another command for you “Return home and tell how much God has done for you”.  Tell of the wonders God has done as David did in Psalm 9:1.  Tell your children about the praiseworthy deeds the Lord has done (Psalm 78:1-4).  Tell everyone about the great things the Lord has done and how they can be a part of what God is doing around the world (Psalm 98).

Is this the end of your Extreme Missionary Adventure or the beginning of an extreme lifetime lived for the Lord?  Don’t let the fire go out!

Prayer Prompt

Pray for your volunteer to prepare his/her heart to travel to the remote places to share the Good News.
