Do Not Hinder Them – Terry Parks

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 19:14 

One morning on a recent trip to Nicaragua we shared door-to-door in a Miskito community inviting all to join us for a time of song, testimony, and games. We split into teams visiting the small community. We had special opportunities to pray for special family needs and shared the scripture of John in their language.

As the time for the special service approached children began to gather with only a few adults gathering with them. It was a vivid reminder of the verse in Matthew when Jesus blessed the children. Our prayer is for these children to find hope and forgiveness in Christ in the coming days. As the house church and small group and believers grow in this community may they teach the children to follow and trust in Jesus.
